Roseland is in the hamlet of Clifton, 1 mile south of Kempsey, 1 mile north of Severn Stoke.   It is a spacious country home with huge windows taking full advantage of the sun and panoramic views of the Malvern Hills.  On a clear day  British Camp and the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Beacons are easily seen . The foreground view is made up of Dripshill Wood in the mid-distance, with Clevelode and Rhydd closer on the banks of the river Severn. The Severn Way footpath passes through the lower part of Clifton.

Roseland is a family run bed and breakfast unit.  Hosts are husband and wife, Guy and Mary. The bed and breakfast accommodation consists of a double bedded room with ensuite upstairs, a ground floor twin bedded room and, if available, a double room in the holiday bungalow annexe.    Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Access statement and wheelchair ramp available on demand.

The house is centrally heated. There is an open fire in the sitting room which gives extra comfort and atmosphere in the winter and here, on arrival, bed and breakfast guests can enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and biscuits. 

 

Roseland Bed and Breakfast Ensuite Bedroom accommodation .jpg (11724 bytes)In the main house two bedrooms are offered: upstairs a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room: on the ground floor a twin-bedded room opposite its own private bathroom, with combined bath and shower unit.    When available there is also a third double bedroom and bathroom offered  in the connected bungalow annexe, where guests can use the large sitting room, dining kitchen, and conservatory.  Details of the bungalow annexe are on the self-catering page.

Guests in the annexe bedroom use the kitchen and sitting room facilities. Towels are provided for each guest.   Dressing gowns are provided in the twin room.

Twin Bedroom Accommodation on the ground floor. For guests with a wheelchair and limited mobility, access can be arranged through the front door with the aid of a home-made ramp. Entrance door to room is 28 inch wide and is at right angle to a corridor 38 inch wide. The private bathroom opposite the bedroom is not accessible for a wheel chair.

How to find Roseland

Directions from M5 - from the north (approx 10 minutes): exit Junc.7, take direction Worcester.  Next roundabout, left on A449 / A4440 towards Malvern until roundabout junction with A38.  Turn left, direction Tewkesbury.   Follow A38 through Kempsey & after approx 1 mile turn right at second Clifton turn (after right-hand bend).  "Roseland" is first house on the right.

Directions from M5 - from the south (approx 10 minutes): exit Junc.8 and take M50 for 1 short section.

Directions from M50 - from the south and west: exit Junc.1, take A38 towards Worcester.  1 mile after Severn Stoke, turn left into Clifton.   "Roseland" is first house on the right.

Public Transport:  There is a bus stop in Clifton Village on the A38.   Nearest village shop and post office are in Kempsey (1 mile), and main shopping centre is in Worcester (5 miles).   Worcester Shrub Hill Railway Station is  about 15 minutes away by car.
