GENERAL INFORMATION
There are two adjoining houses at Roseland, surrounded by half an acre of garden (with off-road parking) which visitors are most welcome to enjoy. The main house accommodation is used for bed and breakfast. The holiday bungalow annexe is dedicated to self catering holidays or short term lets. When available it is also used for bed and breakfast . There are two resident dogs in the main house. Friendly 'visiting' dogs are welcome in both houses. One host is a fluent French speaker and understands basic German. It is a family run business.
Clifton Village is 1 mile south of Kempsey, on the A38, (www.streetmap.co.uk) approximatively 5 miles south of Worcester, web site link: (www.thisisworcester.co.uk) and the Shrub Hill railway station. The M5 and M50 motorways are both just 10 minutes away, allowing easy reach from the north and south for a bed and breakfast stay, for a short break in the holiday cottage bungalow, or an overnight stay for a wedding party attending The Nash (www.the-nash.com) in Kempsey. Green-fingered visitors will find that garden centres and nurseries abound in the area. Birmingham Airport is some 35 miles away via the M5 and M42 motorways.
The River Severn is about 30 minutes walk across leafy cultivated countryside, with abundant birdlife ---- sightings of herons, swans, geese, cormorants and buzzards are frequent.---Anglers and their tented umbrella shelters are seen regularly on dedicated fishing positions. Visitors fishing for barbels and other species have stayed at Roseland several years running. Their websites are thebarbelsociety.co.uk and anglingexperience.co.uk .
The Malvern Hills and the Three Counties Showground are about 7 miles away,.--- Worcester is famous for its Cathedral, its Royal Porcelain Factory, (www.royal-worcester.co.uk), both 15 minutes away by car, its well known savoury Sauce and the Civil War Battle of 1651.---- Visitors at Roseland can also visit Cheltenham for the famous races, the Cotswolds for picturesque villages, Stratford-on-Avon for everything Shakespearean, and the pretty local town of Upton-on-Severn for its Jazz and Water festivals. Boat trips are available from both Worcester and Upton (www.riverboattrips.co.uk).
